How do I find you?
We are located on McIntyre Road, Lara, half way between Geelong and Melbourne and a short distance from Werribee, with the Melways reference 423:H3
If you set your GPS to 24 McIntyre Road, though, it will bring you to our front gate.
How much does it cost per night per cat?
McIntyre Park & Avalon Cattery has the lowest prices in the entire region, starting from $10 per night. As there are several different types of cattery enclosures for our cat, and further discounts for longer stays of over two months, please check our rates to get the relevant price for your cat.
Do you accept cats that need medication or injections?
Yes – and at no extra charge! We have a properly trained veterinary nurse on the premises 24/7 to administer any medication or injections if necessary.
What size accommodation is provided for each cat?
The McIntyre Park & Avalon Cattery enclosures are twice the size of those required by the Code Of Practice for Boarding Establishments of Victoria. They measure 1.3m wide x 1.3m deep x 1.8m high.
Does my cat have access to an outdoor area?
Yes. There are 72 suites in total. The Single Deluxe Suites have outdoor access. Should you wish your cat to be placed in one of these, please let us know upon booking to see if there are any available for the duration of your cat’s stay. Six of the cattery enclosures do not have outdoor access and these are the Single Indoor Suites and are priced slightly cheaper per day per cat for this reason.
Do I have to provide bedding for my cat?
No. Bedding is supplied and usually consists of a basket laced with blankets and crocheted quilts. The small beds consist of a platform built to the size of a child’s mattress.
What diet is my cat fed?
We at McIntyre Park & Avalon Cattery serve only good quality brands of food to our guests which include Hills Science Diet, Royal Canin, Fancy Feasts in order to ensure our guests get the nutrients they need. (Also, cheaper foods tend to make harder work cleaning out litter trays!)
Does my cat need to be vaccinated?
By law all cats are required to have a minimum of F3 vaccination, therefore all our guests are required to show proof of this. It is preferred that your cat also has an F4 Feline aids vaccination too, however not essential.
